KGM awarded to a Regimental member

L/CPL Alex Appleby-Mason of 221 Squadron (EOD&S) Royal Engineers, was awarded the Kings Gallantry Medal (KGM), in the Kings Birthday Honours 2026.

Whilst off duty Alex jumped into the river Thames to help rescue two young children.

The Kings Gallantry Medal is awarded to personnel of the Armed Forces and civilians for exemplary acts of bravery.
